“Castle” opened its seventh season with an approximate (and first place) 7.1/12 at 10pm which held 82% of the 9:30pm portion of lead-in “Dancing with the Stars” (8.7/13). And “Castle” beat competing “The Blacklist” on NBC (6.8/11) and aforementioned “NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS (6.0/10) by 4% and 18% respectively. Castle’s overnight rating could be inflated due to the two markets airing football.
