Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk and the rest of the cast of the short-lived Joss Whedon sci-fi show will return for the mobile game spin-off.

 It might not be the full-scale relaunch of the television series that fans have been asking for, but the news that the cast of the late, lamented Firefly are reuniting for the online game Firefly Online is, nonetheless… well, pretty shiny.It was announced late Thursday at Comic-Con that Nathan FillionGina TorresAdam Baldwinand the rest of the original cast of the Joss Whedonshow would be returning to provide voices for the game, with Alan Tudyk providing “multiple voices” for different characters.

The returning cast also includes Michael Fairman, who will be voicing the character Niska, responsible for hiring the crew in the game.

Firefly Online—a mobile game that will allow the player to become the captain of was originally announced at last year’s Comic-Con by developers QMXi and Spark Plug Games, with an original launch date of this summer (It is currently “coming soon,” according to developers). Registration for the game is currently open at the official site, although current traffic demands make that site one of the slowest in the ‘verse at time of writing, so persistence may be key.
