We already knew Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff was a lot of fun and that they had plenty of big surprises in store for us, but we had no idea they had something this big.
This update will take place the same time as Comic-Con and offer all sorts of new goodies for your Quahog. It will be available tomorrow, July 24 on iOS devices and a week later on July 31 on Google Play.
If you haven’t played it yet, it’s free on the App Store and on Google Play.
Here’s the official release from Tiny Co and Fox:
SAN FRANCISCO, CA and LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwired – July 23, 2014) – In celebration of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con®, TinyCo and Fox Digital Entertainment have announced the introduction of celebrity guest stars into their hit mobile game FAMILY GUY: The Quest for Stuff. This experience highlights Fox and TinyCo’s ground-breaking strategy to bring hilarious updates to The Quest for Stuff that mirror real-life events.
As part of a themed update set to play out in the FAMILY GUY: The Quest for Stuff game over the next several weeks, Comic-Con International is hosting a new comic convention in Quahog. After a hilarious series of events, Stewie is transformed into an evil octopus monster and Quahog needs a new set of heroes to help fight back! Patrick Stewart, Bryan Cranston, and Stan Lee, and more popular icons arrive just in time to train Peter, Lois, Chris, and Quagmire to become real superheroes. Players will need to use these newfound superpowers to save the day and restore order to the town.
During the update, players can unlock and play with seven new celebrity characters as they work to save Quahog and collect unique rewards along the way. Participating guest stars were transformed into FAMILY GUY characters by the team at 20th Century Fox Television, and had their original voice recorded for inclusion in the game. The full list of celebrities includes:
- Patrick Stewart
- Bryan Cranston
- Ron Perlman
- George Takei
- Felicia Day
- Stan Lee
- Nathan Fillion
“With a brand as big as FAMILY GUY, we have the opportunity to push the boundaries of what is possible in a mobile game,” said Andrew Green, Head of Business Development and Operations at TinyCo. “Including celebrity guest stars is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, and we’re incredibly excited to give players the opportunity to interact with some of their favorite stars in a brand new way.”
The celebrity filled Comic-Con® International event will be available to players on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on July 24. It will be available on Google Play one week later, on July 31. San Diego Comic-Con will run from July 24-27 in San Diego, CA.
