As he has made clear in the past, actor Nathan Fillion was quite interested in the part of main protagonist Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted film. However, the film’s director David O. Russell has given the part to Mark Wahlberg – and Nathan Fillion supports it.
“You can’t fault a man for A. working with someone he’s worked with before, B. Mark Wahlberg, I think that’s a talented guy,” said Fillion when speaking to Nerdist.
“I think he does great work, that guy, and he’s a huge international star, which I am not. I am not.” he said. He then added “I will be.”
He concluded by saying that “So sure I would have loved it, but I can’t fault anybody for any of the choices they make. You’re gonna make a movie, make it the way you’re gonna make it and have a great time.”
A while back, Russell asked fans to “trust and let go”. Sounds like that’s exactly what Nathan Fillion is doing.
