The fact that James Gunn’s berserk, winningly imaginative, and just all-out entertaining monster movie Slither was a box office failure back in 2006 seemed unbelievable at the time. And that tepid reception only became more confounding when Gunn utilized a similar tone and even some of the same cast members — most notably Michael Rooker — on the massively successful Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Over the past decade, however, Slither has achieved the status of a cult classic and on July 18 will finally be released on Blu-ray by Scream Factory.
Nathan Fillion will join the cast of “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” in Season 2, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

The show’s producers are expected to announce the new cast additions at a discussion about Season 1 at Netflix FYSee space Friday night.

Fillion is coming off of an eight-season run on ABC’s “Castle.” He previously appeared on Netflix in an episode of Drew Barrymore comedy “Santa Clarita Diet.” Recently, he also recurred on “Modern Family” and appeared on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He is repped by CAA.

That’s a relationship that may or may not continue.” — Mandi Bierly
A new original netflix commedy series titled “Santa Clarita Diet” will be coming to Netflix on February 3rd and will star Nathan. GEEKING OUT premieres August 14 at 11/10c on AMC
Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg are joined by Alan Tudyk, Nathan Fillion, and J.J. Abrams on Geeking Out.
Hosted by Kevin Smith (Comic Book Men, Clerks) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes, Lost, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and graphic novel Dream Jumper), Geeking Out is a 30-minute talk show that takes a timely look at pop culture through a fanboy lens and features celebrity interviews, discussion and out-of-the-studio segments.
The set-up: The evening’s host — and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg — locked himself away in a bunker to watch “every show” so he can participate in TV conversations with his friends.
Along the way, he ran into all your small-screen favorites, including Castle‘s Nathan Fillion, The Odd Couple‘s Yvette Nicole Brown, Fresh Off the Boat‘s Randall Park, Mad Men‘s John Hamm, Scandal‘s Kerry Washington, Last Man on Earth‘s Will Forte (in a Les Miserables homage), Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk and many more.
In this exclusive look at a new promo for ABC’s freshman comedy The Muppets (premiering Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c), Fillion — who in a previous clip was seen having his bacon eyed by a shameless Miss Piggy — chats up Kermit backstage at a shoot, where he gets the 411 on the frog’s new series.
ABC has unveiled three new teasers for the upcoming Muppets series, pairing Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Swedish Chef with a few regulars from the network, including Kerry Washington, Nathan Fillion, and Patricia Heaton. The promos don’t go off without a hitch, however, as the rift between Miss Piggy and Kermit seems like it could make things tense for Washington. Luckily, she’s more concerned about snagging a selfie with Kermit than actually getting to know her network costars.
Check out the three promos below, and a word of advice to Kermit – if you ever want to win back Miss Piggy, keep an eye on that Fillion fellow.
