In tonight’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine (8/7c, Fox), Castle‘s Nathan Fillion guest-stars as a TV sleuth who thinks his experience catching perps on the small screen qualifies him to solve actual crimes. In other words, he’s basically playing the P.I. version of Lowe’s late, great Grinder “lawyer” Dean Sanderson — and we are here for it.
Nathan will be joining the cast of Brooklyn Nine Nine, and his new role is going to drop him right in with Jake Peralta’s crew of cops. He’ll be playing Mark Devereaux, the star of a fictional crime drama TV series called Serve & Protect, where he plays a detective. When an actual crime occurs on the set of the show, and Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) show up to investigate. With ten years of experience playing a detective on TV, Mark thinks he can help the real-life detectives solve the case.
