Nathan Fillion
Your first and ultimate online resource for talented actor, Nathan Fillion.

Are you the type who aches for a Booth and Brennan romance on Bones? Or who clapped when Cuddy finally started dating House’s crotchety doc? Nathan Fillion isn’t. The Canadian actor, who currently stars on Castle, says he’s worried the dynamic could change if his character hooks-up with Beckett (Stana Katic).

“This is where Stana and I differ,” he divulges to TV Guide Canada in a theatre on the ABC lot. “She thinks that the story, the relationship, would just encounter different hurdles and other kinds of things going on — they would get together and everything would be fine.

“I am of the jumping-the-shark school of thought. I believe that if you have tension built up … if you reconcile that, if you fix it all and you give everybody what they want and you release that tension, that’s when people start going, ‘OK, done.’” (Makes channel flicking motion.)

It seems as though the pair will inevitably connect, though — online images for this Monday’s episode feature Beckett and Castle in a passionate embrace. Naturally, Fillion was reluctant to confirm any specific details, but he was quick to point out that things aren’t always what they seem.

“I don’t want to say that they kiss because what happens — you can’t see someone doing what they’re doing and go, ‘Yeah, they kissed.’ ‘Cause it’s more of a mashing … they kind of melt at the lips. That’s what it is: it’s a lip melting,” he convolutedly explains.

Tune in Jan. 24 to see if your Castle hopes — or fears — come true.
Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on CTV/ABC.
